Unraveling the laws of nature.
The Department of Physics was incepted in the year 1950 at the Intermediate level. In 1956, the subject was taught at the Pre-University level. In the following year, Physics was upgraded to an Ancillary subject for the Undergraduate students of Mathematics and later in 1979, was also introduced to students of Chemistry.
• Remedial classes-both in theory and practicals are conducted regularly to help slow learners compete with the other students.
• Abdul Kalam Prize was instituted from 2006.
• Study tours, field visits, energy conservation surveys form a regular part of the curriculum.
• The laboratory is well-equipped with instruments like Digital IC Trainer, Digital and Analog Meters and Bread board.
The Department of Physics(SF) was started in the academic year 2016-2017 at the under graduate level. In the year 2014 onwards, Physics was upgraded to an Ancillary subject for the Undergraduate students of Mathematics(SF).
