FINE ARTS ASSOCIATION

Nirmala College for Women, Coimbatore has had its Fine Arts Association for more than 60 years from the inception of this institution. The Fine Arts Association has organized and conducted numerous cultural programmes and competitions over the years to encourage our talented students to participate enthusiastically held within and outside the college. The students have brought laurels to the institution with their talents and creativity.

The objectives of the Fine Arts Association:
  • To provide a platform for the students to exhibit their talent

  • To develop qualities of co-operation, co-ordination and competitive spirit

  • To create a culturally vibrant spirit

The Fine Arts Association of our College manages various intra-college events, the Annual Day of the college, intercollegiate events and competitions. The College Fine Arts Association had its INSIGNIA – Intercollegiate every year to motivate student’s exhibit their creative talents. Keeping the spirit of integrity the Association organizes TALENTUM – An Intra Departmental Competition for the Nirmalites. The Association organizes and conducts multiple competitions, events and programmes for the student community and they work as individuals and as teams to showcase their imbibed talents.

The Fine Arts Association improves and encourages creativity, confidence, and perseverance by developing aesthetic skills, motor skills, visual learning, decision-making, focus, collaboration, and accountability. We in the Fine Art Association provide a platform for our students to nurture their talents.

The Fine Arts Association of Nirmala College for Women concomitants creativity, imagination, expression and social upliftment of the Nirmalites that functions in consultation with the Principal, Dean of Students Affairs and the Fine Arts Coordinators.

Practices
  • The Fine Arts Association functions effectively every year with an inaugural of the association electing the office bearers and its members.

  • The various programmes, competitions and activities of the Association are being meticulously planned and organized by the coordinators and members through regular meetings.

  • The Association members motivate and kindle the potential of the students to participate in both regional and national events and programmes.

  • The students are also inspired to connect with society to educate others on different social issues and create awareness through the varied forms of Art.

  • The renowned alumni of our college are invited as Resource Persons and Judge for the activities of the Fine Arts Association.

Outcome

Students participate energetically in the events and contribute laurels to the institution which in turn is a self-motivation for the student.

Participation in various programmes, events creates the spirit of teamwork and time management amidst the student community.

The artistic excellence of the students is enriched and developed at the college to strengthen their knowledge specific form of Art.

Students extend their talents and knowledge by commencing different schools and coaching centres as their future accomplishments in the field of Arts.

Students have commenced schools namely

  • Western Dance School, Zumba Dance School and Bharathanatyam Dance School.

  • T Music Schools- teaching music and offering singing classes

  • Painting and Drawing Classes- teach the art of sketching (charcoal, pencil) Glass painting, Fabric painting, Abstract painting, Poster and Oil painting.

  • Makeup Artists – teach Bridal Makeup, Mehandhi Artist, Nail Art, Hair dressing

Some students have become Singers, Dancers, Violinist, Guitarist, Keyboard Player excelling in their passionate field of Art.
