The expedition of the Department of English- SF has begun in 2003 with the post graduate course M.A. English Language and Literature. After stamping its foot strongly in the stream of post-graduation, the department has further flourished with the course of B.A. English Literature in 2015. Embracing both the streams of PG and UG, the department has been nomenclature to Department of English- SF (UG & PG) and is functioning with full-fledge, to enliven the world of literature in the young minds of the students.

The vision of the Department is to instil in the young minds of the students an awareness of their self-identity and nurture a thirst as well as a thrust for the glorious fulfilment of their womanhood for the betterment of Cosmic Growth and Global Unity. It aims to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of English Language and Literature. It also aims to develop and encourage their creative skills in critical reading and writing and to mould self-confident individuals capable of pursuing related careers in a challenging environment.
