Plant Sciences play a powerful role in increasing health, welfare and happiness of humanity. PUC was initiated in the year 1957. Biological science was introduced as a paper with the aim of providing basic training for those who may seek a career in some branches of science discipline. Later the UG Course in Botany was incepted in the year 1964, PG and Research (M. Phil and Ph.D., both Full time and Part time) took it’s beginning in the year of 2011. The Department has well equipped with sophisticated instruments. Department offers UGC sponsored innovative PG Programme (M.Sc., Bio-informatics) and UGC sponsored Career Oriented Certificate Course on Floriculture & Bonsai and Medicinal Botany.
