E-Commerce

E-Commerce or Electronics Commerce is the most vast and popular business sector. It’s an online buying and selling process of goods and services and it is the order of the day. Technology driven, Customer reaching, High sales, Products quality, 24/7 services, greater choice of products, services and prompt delivery are some of the pressing factors for E-commerce. E-commerce is a great platform for the entrepreneurs to make their business reach the global market. In the digital competitive era, when the policy makers insists on the change of business pattern and the prominent role played by IT and ITES companies gives a boost to this trading practice. E-commerce business is helping women to start and grow their business while working from home and to transact at their pace. Employment opportunities is being enhanced and customers can exercise their choice according to their preferences. Leading companies like Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, etc. speaks success volumes of E-Commerce business. This course tries to create awareness on E-Commerce operations and educate,  prepare the students to find employment besides igniting an entrepreneurial insight to start one’s own business.

 

Programme objectives

 

  • To produce a new generation of information technology (IT) professionals who will be competent in evaluating and developing electronic commerce systems and services within a business context.

 

  • Understand the traditional and new communication/marketing approaches that create competitive advantage in the New Economy.

 

  • Students will gain knowledge of core business and technical related subjects, together with an in-depth understanding of the specific business, legal, and technical issues involved in the exploitation of e-commerce, and the necessary knowledge and skills to analyze, plan, design, develop, and maintain electronic commerce application systems.
