COURSE OUTLINE
Syllabus covers fundamental concepts of Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry along with Computer applications in Chemistry and Application-oriented subjects.

  • Curriculum is updated and revamped, retaining essentials and incorporating current advancements.
  • Projects introduced, enable students to be research-oriented.
  • Application-oriented practicals have been introduced to enhance employability of students

Chemistry department Nirmala College for Women Coimbatore

1. Frequent Seminars, Association meetings and Guest Lectures are organized to update both staff and students with the latest developments in Chemistry.
2. Scholarships and prizes to the tune of Rs. 20000/ is provided by the department every year in addition to govt. scholarships.
3. "Energy Club" serves to create awareness on energy crisis and the need for conservation of energy.
4. Students are trained in the preparation of home care products like detergents and readymade food products. Students are trained for self-employment with minimum infrastructure and minimum investment.
5. Every year students are taken for industrial visits to expose them to applications of chemistry in industries.Industrial visits expose students to the practical aspects of class room learning. Institutional visits create awareness about opportunities and careers in higher education and motivate them for research.
6. More than 50% of the students are placed as teachers or lecturers and few work in research institutes or private companies / Banks.
